At Bethel, our mission is to help people be disciples - life-long learners & followers of Jesus Christ. Discipleship means God awakening disciples from head knowledge of the faith to "heart life."
A "disciple" is one who is walking on the road with Jesus to find out about Him; a seeker of divine Wisdom; a follower of Jesus; a learner; even from the very moment that someone begins asking questions about Jesus, they are on the path of discipleship. |

Mission Opportunities
Calling all high school & college students! Do you need to earn hours for a class, a group, a merit badge, or an application? You can make a difference in a child’s life - by volunteering with Love INC’s New Hope Ministry! Join our childcare team. Contact Contact Barb at [email protected] or text 847.469.4011.
Learn new skills, make new friends! Join our New Hope Ministry community for our no-cost summer workshops - learning skills like basic budgeting, eating healthy on a budget, and basic car maintenance. Spend your time serving this summer! Have you been hearing about Love INC and wonder how you can get involved? Join us for an upcoming volunteer orientation to learn more about the many opportunities to share your God-given talents to help our neighbors in need. Volunteer orientation will be offered Thursday, June 6th 6:30-8pm or Saturday, July 13th 9:30-11 am at the Love INC office (339 Lakewood Ave. in Waukegan). Click here to RSVP.
Garage Sale Season is Here! Use your skills for finding deals to help stock the shelves for our partner churches' Household Starter Kit and Furniture ministries. All items must be in very good condition - would you use them in your home? Call the office at 847.782.8630 to schedule a time to drop off the goods. Find our general list of needs here. Current 'Stuff' needs are 2 or 3 qt saucepans, 10" or 12"skillets, twin blankets, nightstands, end tables, and coffee tables.
When Wayne was released from the hospital after suffering a debilitating stroke, he came home to an empty apartment – no bed, no furniture, no dishes. God led Wayne to Bethel Lutheran in Gurnee, who referred him to Love INC. He didn’t know it was just the beginning of his relationship with Love INC, and the transformation God would make possible through our partner churches. Click here for Wayne's story.

Bernie's Blessing Coat, Glove, Hat & Shoe Drive
We collect coats, gloves, warm hats and men's shoes for Bernie to distribute on the streets of Chicago on Christmas Eve. For over 25 years the people of Bethel have donated many, many coats that are given to the homeless who are out in the cold and bad weather. Check back in November for how we can all donate warm gloves, warm hats and men's shoes of all kinds. Contact the Bethel office at 847-244-9647 with any questions.
