At Bethel, our mission is to help people be disciples - life-long learners & followers of Jesus Christ. Discipleship means God awakening disciples from head knowledge of the faith to "heart life."
A "disciple" is one who is walking on the road with Jesus to find out about Him; a seeker of divine Wisdom; a follower of Jesus; a learner; even from the very moment that someone begins asking questions about Jesus, they are on the path of discipleship. |

Calling all high school & college students! Do you need to earn hours for a class, a group, a merit badge, or an application? Learn new skills, make new friends! Join our New Hope Ministry community for our no-cost summer workshops - learning skills like basic budgeting, eating healthy on a budget, and basic car maintenance. Share Your Time this Fall. Looking for ways to serve your community now that the kids are back in school? Join an upcoming Love INC volunteer orientation to learn more about the many opportunities to share your God-given talents to help our neighbors in need. *Newly added weekday* Tuesday morning Sept 30th at 10:30am or Tuesday evening October 14th at 6:30pm at the Love INC office (339 Lakewood Ave. in Waukegan). Loved Twice is Hiring! Help spread the word! Loved Twice Thrift Boutique is growing, so they are seeking another Assistant Manager to join the team. This new leader will love God, love their customers & volunteers - as well as have the ability to lift and move items around the store. When Wayne was released from the hospital after suffering a debilitating stroke, he came home to an empty apartment – no bed, no furniture, no dishes. God led Wayne to Bethel Lutheran in Gurnee, who referred him to Love INC. He didn’t know it was just the beginning of his relationship with Love INC, and the transformation God would make possible through our partner churches. Click here for Wayne's story.

Bernie's Blessing Coat, Glove, Hat & Shoe Drive
We collect coats, gloves, warm hats and men's shoes for Bernie to distribute on the streets of Chicago on Christmas Eve. For over 25 years the people of Bethel have donated many, many coats that are given to the homeless who are out in the cold and bad weather. Check back in November for how we can all donate warm gloves, warm hats and men's shoes of all kinds. Contact the Bethel office at 847-244-9647 with any questions.
