Interim Pastor
During the sabbatical period, the Rev. Ron Weidler, a retired LCMS pastor, from Batavia, IL, has agreed to serve as Interim Pastor at Bethel. He will spend several days a week onsite as well as conduct our worship services on Sundays.
Additional Leadership from Bethel
Before the sabbatical begins, the he Sabbatical Team will work with Pastor Squires, our staff and leaders, and the interim pastor to ensure that lay people are prepared to lead confirmation classes and Sunday morning adult Bible studies. Elders and other leaders will also need to take on additional responsibilities like home/hospital visits and new visitor contacts.
Sending & Welcoming
Please join the worship service on Sunday, August 30th at 9am to ask for God’s blessing on Pastor Squires and his family, our congregation, and our interim pastor, Pastor Ron Weidler. We will be celebrating Holy Communion at 10:30am (outdoors) followed by a drive-through parade at 11:30am. Please feel free to decorate your car, make a sign, create a picture or card...anything that will let Pastor Squires know that Bethel will miss him and are excited to hear how God will be working in Him during this sabbatical.
The Sunday after Pastor returns to service we will again have a special service of welcoming Pastor Squires back and praise God for all that He has done during the sabbatical.
